You may be a Traffic Engineer or you may have experience as a traffic police person or have experience in a similar role. This role involves liaison with members of the public who require modification to the traffic schemes in their area. These requests may include speed humps, pedestrian crossings, traffic lights, tree cutting etc. The successful Traffic Technician will visit the site and discuss the feasibility of the project, possibly offering alternative solutions.

These duties will need to be carried out by someone who has excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate ideas both in writing, on the telephone and face to face.

Traffic Calming Engineer, South Yorkshire - Ref:3974

Traffic Calming Engineer (6 month Contract)
South Yorkshire

You will have extensive experience in Traffic Management and a real enthusiasm for improving the safety of our roads. With demonstratable experience gained in a consulting engineer or local authority type environment. You may have designed schemes to calm traffic such as speed cushions, road humps, chicanes, new road junctions, pedestrian crossings and other road safety schemes. The job involves design of new innovative traffic calming schemes so a commitment to the safe flow of traffic and an interest in new ideas is crucial.

A qualification in (preferably Civil) Engineering is needed.

We expect to pay £23- £27 Ltd per hour for this role.
